GIVEAWAY: Essential Oils!

I am so very pleased to offer this essential oils introductory kit generously provided by Simona of doTERRA oils.  This kit includes an introductory audio CD and booklet highlighting the uses of essential oils and three 5ml bottles of doTERRA's CPTG (Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade) oils: lavender, lemon and peppermint.  The stunning presentation box also includes suggested uses of the included oils, providing you with an immediate experience of the wonderful benefits of essential oils.

What to do with these oils?

For starters, each of these oils would be amazing in my 3-minute deodorant recipe.

Peppermint oil

  • If we ever feel nauseous, we simply open up the peppermint oil bottle and breathe in for immediate relief.
  • Mix a drop in with a tablespoon of coconut oil and rub on feet or stomach to treat an upset stomach.
  • Mix a drop of peppermint oil and lavender oil with coconut oil to rub on to growing pains or sore muscles.
Lavender oil
  • If you're having trouble sleeping, try applying a few drops of the lavender oil on the bottom of your feet before sleeping.
  • Use a drop of lavender oil to treat a bee sting.
  • Mix with coconut oil and rub on sunburned skin.
Lemon oil
  • Do you enjoy lemon water?  Simply add a drop of lemon oil to your water.  You can even carry the cute lil bottle around in your purse to add to any drink you may get while you're out and about.  This saves you from absorbing the toxic pesticides the lemon wedges from restaurants deposit in your water.
  • Add a drop of lemon oil and a spoonful of honey into hot water to make a tea that soothes sore throats and coughs.
  • Use to clean kitchen counters and stainless steal (find out how in the included CD).
BONUS!
Not only can you enter for a chance to win this introductory kit, Simona is also giving away ten 5ml bottles of wild orange oil along with a doTERRA fall magazine which includes tips and recipes!  It also contains articles on how to use these oils in your home or classroom to improve the learning environment, a natural beauty guide, pointers for men's grooming, and more.

Orange oil

  • This oil is used to lift moods.  Open the jar and give it a whiff, or sprinkle some on some natural decorations like pine cones to scent your home.
  • Orange oil is also a fabulous ant repellant.
  • It can also be used in natural wood cleaners.
There are many other uses each oil has; the DVD and magazine contain several more.  It's really quite simple and I never knew how fun it was to play with these nourishing, essential oils.

Enter now!  Be sure to check the Facebook page for discounts and more ways to use essential oil.

  30. I have morning sickness right now so the peppermint oil is intriguing......also with 4 little ones in the house the idea of natural non-toxic cures for things like growing pains is really appealing.
One more thing I like about the essential oils is that aside from their own inherent healing properties the use of them is so therapeutic.......think of of the difference between throwing my kid a dose of Tylenol at bedtime (which I admit to doing) vs opening a bottle of nice oil for them to SMELL and rubbing their legs with it using the sense of TOUCH.....seems so much more caring, calming and holistic.

  43. April, you know what I love best about peppermint oil, not only does it help with all things digestive, but I can and do, use it to give quick energy - inhaling it deeply does wonders! - use it on sore muscles for anti-inflammatory relief, use it for fevers on sweet little baby heads and feet and my kids' favorite, use it in our green smoothies for breakfast! Yay!

  45. Ahhh! Serenity. Puts my kids right to sleep and they stay asleep. It is so soothing and calming. If children (or adults) struggle with ADHD, they can use it during the day and it would help to bring a peaceful calm but without the sleepiness. So much nicer than a synthetic medication. The blend contains lavender, sweet marjoram, roman chamomile, ylang ylang, sandalwood and a vanilla bean extract.

Breathe is lovely in cold/flu and allergy season. Asthmatics also find relief with this blend that opens up airways often more effectively than an inhaler. The oils in this blend also are known to soothe the tissues of the respiratory system and combat airborne bacteria and viruses that could be harmful to our system. It smells divine. Contains bay leaf, peppermint, eucalyptus radiata, melaleuca alternifolia, lemon, and ravensara (a cross between clove and nutmeg.

  52. Yes. Digestzen is awesome. As with all essential oils and blends, they work to support our body by bringing it into balance so it can heal itself, as it was made to do. :) DZ is my favorite example of this. Putting it on the tummy for constipation will help one "go" whereas, applying for the opposite reason, will cause a "stop" in elimination. Isn't that amazing. And you are correct, it aids us in sluggish digestion as well. I send it to school with my little guy who knows how and when to apply. Containing the culinary herbs, ginger, peppermint, tarragon, fennel, caraway, coriander and anise, it is so soothing and smells delicious. Can be taken internally as well for further assistance in digestive organs.

See a post above for information on Breathe. It is great for sinues!

  57. I love to clean with with the lemon oil. I place EO in my all purpose cleaner (1/2 vinegar, 1/2 water and 1 drop EO to 1 oz. liquid). I also make different versions of this cleaner for different purposes and have one in each bathroom and in the kitchen. Eucalyptus for my hardwoods (doTERRA's lemon would take the finish off!), Thyme and Lemon in the Kitchen, Melaleuca in the showers, OnGuard - immunity blend for tough counter stuff and for doorknobs and light switches. You wouldn't have to make all these versions but I love variety.

My kids can use any of the cleaner we make. No more sending them out while I'm fully decked out with a face mask, apron, gloves and fan on for protection from toxins! :)

Also, worth mentioning, is on PubMed, a website with university and other medical lab tests, you can find studies on applying EO to surfaces with their antimicrobial properties. It was shown that after one cleaning on a counter top with OnGuard, no microbes grew for two weeks and on door knobs, for nine days. Isn't that amazing? So yes, as you said, healthy home.

  58. Kristie! A kit IS a great way to start. A kit offers the enrollment pack (membership) for free and offers a deep discount versus trying to purchase each oil individually. They were put together for specific purposes. The other great news is that once you purchase and begin to use the oils, you are not alone. You get me ;). I am here to guide and teach because, yes, there is so much to learn about these pure, powerful, potent liquid extracts of plants. :) There is a wealth of information on line as well as live classes that may be offered in your area. If there are none, I can host a webinar for personal teaching as well. Each kit comes with DVD's and usage guides. I also recommend the Modern Essentials book (http://www.aromatools.com/Aromatherapy_Books_s/17.htm - I will gift to you with a qualifying purchase), specific to doTERRA oils, listing each individual oil and oil blend, it's historical use, it's chemical composition and usage guide. The second half of the book has an alphabetical guide to ailments and which oils to use and how to apply. Please contact me for more information. I would love to talk to you personally.

  69. Hi Janice!

Please accept my apologies as I responded to this days ago, but the reply is missing.

Yes, the Zendocrine blend of oils containing clove, grapefruit, rosemary and geranium will support your cleansing efforts and positively affect your hormonal system, emotional balance, skin and hair. To apply, it is indicated to take 3-5 drops of the Zendocrine oil blend in capsules either alone or with the Zendocrine supplement capsules (same oils with natural plant extracts as well) up to once a day. Also, you may massage onto bottoms of feet.

    Thank you!

Let me know how I may be of assistance.

  70. Dear Ann,

I wrote a nice lengthy response to your comment and alas, it is also missing, as were some of the others.

I love to clean with lemon oil in my all-purpose cleaner (1/2 water, 1/2 vinegar and ~30 drops of EO per 32oz spray bottle). I also use lemon in my soft scrub and laundry detergent. It's "all things pure". Think "clean". doTERRA's citrus oils will take the finish off of wood in their full strength dose, so do be careful with any of those. So powerful!

I'd like to mention that I blend oils and make different AP sprays for different purposes. I use the melaleuca (anti-fungal) in the showers/tubs, eucalyptus on the wood floors, OnGuard - immunity blend - for door knobs and light switches and Thyme/Orange in the kitchen when I don't have lemon around. I like to change things up and I love having the kids to help as well. They are perfectly safe to do so. No more masking up, doning gloves, turning up fans, locking house while kids are outside, so that I can clean! No more toxins!!! yay!!

Lastly I'd like to mention that on pubmed.gov, a government website put together listing university and hospital testing on various compounds, searching for some of these oils - you will find studies which show that microbes will not grow back on surfaces which were cleaned using essential oils, for up to two weeks! Now THAT'S clean!

    Enjoy!

I believe you are correct. doTERRA creates their products with a healthy lifestyle in mind, so eating well, increasing physical activity and getting plenty of rest is our part. 81. I believe you are correct. doTERRA formulates all their oil products based on the premise that we live healthy lives and will use the products to support us in addition to increasing our physical movement, eating well, and resting amply. I love that the trim shake supports us in feeling full with not just a "pixie dusting" of fiber. It contains a mixture of insoluble and prebiotic soluble fiber that can help promote beneficial GI tract bacteria function and elimnation, at therapeutic levels. That, in addition to a blend of whey, pea and rice proteins and Ashwgandha Root and Leaf extracts as well as bioavailable vitamins and minerals and a great taste, makes this shake a wonderful addition to our healthy lifestyle. Attached is the product information page from which you can do your research on the ingredients. Thank you for your interest. Let me know how I can help you!
