Out of the Mouths of Four-Year-Olds

Driving home after a sweet time with good friends:

"Mom, I really wish my friend's family would adopt me."
"But I would miss you so much!"
"Don't worry, Mom.  I'd send you lots of pictures with me and my friend."
"But my heart would hurt so badly if I couldn't be with you anymore!"
"Mom, you can baby-sit us lots of times, it'll be fine."

Sweet mercies from heaven.  If I wasn't laughing so hard, I'd be crying and wondering where on earth I went wrong.

  1. So funny and cute! I'm sure she would miss you, she just doesn't realize it.

  2. The grass is always greener on the other side :) Such a cute the editing!

  3. Hi Katie, I've visited your blog a few times before from Wardeh's site. We have 5 daughters and have had similar thought from our four year old. She wants my sil to adopt her. I love your Kidisms section. So cute and precious too. Our four year old notices that on Mondays when daddy is fasting he doesn't eat dinner with us. So, when she constantly wants to run around in her "skivvys" her comment to me was "tonight, I'm fasting pajamas...mommy does fasting clothes mean you don't wear them?"

  4. Oh I love that post. It's funny yet sad. It's something my 8-year old would say to me and have me in tears.

  5. that is so funny!! i could hear uriah saying something very similar.

I value your feedback. Thanks for taking the time to share yours!
