I...Oooh, I've been wanting to learn how to can! It was never something my mom really did (she makes freezer jam most years, but not canned), but I love the thought of putting up a bounty of homemade preserves. I would love to learn how to do jam, salsa, and fuits (especially tomatoes). I'll probably be waiting until next year to learn this, as we'll be in Idaho then instead of in Alaska where fresh produce is crazy expensive and we're having the coldest summer we've had since 1953, which means the farmer's market isn't exactly overflowing with produce this year. But I'm going to work on building up my canning supplies throughout this year so next summer I can do it! Thanks for posting about this!
